Variety description: White camellia-like flowers bloom in early summer. This outstanding selection of stewartia has silver-blue foliage that creates a striking contrast with the red stems of new growth. Fiery red fall foliage. As the tree matures, the bark will become a mottled grey, cinnamon and tan.
This beautiful form of pseudocamellia was selected by Guy and Chiyoko Meacham of Plantmad Nursery.
Site requirements: Full sun to part shade. Slightly moist soil high in organic matter, soil should drain well.
Size at maturity: 15' tall at maturity.
Pests and diseases: No insects or diseases are of concern in the Northeast.
Hardiness: USDA zones 5-9.
Plant size: Own root or grafted tree, grown in a 4"x 4" x 9" tree pot.
