Physocarpus opulifolius, 'Fire and Brimstone' ninebark

Variety description: This cultivar sports some of, if not the, darkest foliage of any ninebark selection. Purple-black foliage emerges in spring and only intensifiers in color as the days get hotter. Violet-pink infused white blossoms contrast well with the foliage. These are followed by bright red seed pods. Plant in full blazing sun for best color.
This selection originated from Quakin' Grass Nursery in eastern Connecticut.
Height and Spread at Maturity: 8' tall by 6' wide
Site requirements: Best in full sun. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist locations, and not fussy about soil type.
Hardiness: USDA zones 3-7.
Plant size: Own root shrub tree grown in a 4" x 4" x 9" tree tube.
