Variety description: Large to very large, pyriform, ripening in late July; skin yellow with red blush; flesh yellow, fine-textured, buttery, sweet, juicy, subacid, and aromatic; can be stored for 4 to 6 days at room temperature.
Originated Institute for Fruit Growing in 1957. Released in 1984, introduced into the U.S. in 1974.
Site requirements: Full sun location. Pears will grow in a range of soil types provided the planting location is well drained. Soil pH of 6.5 is ideal.
Hardiness: USDA zones 5-9.
Plant size: Grafted tree, 2-3" with strong central leader. OHxF 97 rootstock.
