Variety description: An excellent dwarf weeping selection of dawn redwood. Soft, grey green foliage cascades downwards. If left untrained will grow prostrate. Best to stake tree when young to desired height and allow pendulous branches to sprawl.
Discovered as a witch's broom sport growing on a dawn redwood specimen growing in New York. Introduced into the nursery trade by Buchholtz Nursery.
Height and Spread at Maturity: 8' tall and 3' wide after 10 years.
Site requirements: Full sun or part shade location. Prefers moist soils high in organic content, but will grow well in many soil types.
Hardiness: USDA zones 5-9.
Plant size: Grafted tree available in two sizes: MT49 4" x 9" tree pot and 2 gallon container.
