Diospyros virginiana x kaki, 'Zima Khurma' hybrid persimmon
Variety description: A very cold hardy hybrid persimmon. Reported to be good producer of orange medium to large size fruit that ripens late season. Our tree has yet to produce, so we cannot speak directly the fruit quality. Also known as NB-02
Site requirements: Persimmons grow best in a full sun location with fertile, well-drained soil. They are quite adaptable and will grow in poor, dry soils, though such sites are far from ideal.
Size at maturity: With pruning, trees can be maintained at 15-20'.
Pests and diseases: None of concern in the Northeast.
Hardiness: Will grow in USDA zones 6-9. This cultivar has grown well for us in at our cold USDA zone 6 location without any winter damage.
Plant size: Grafted tree, about 1-2' tall with a well developed root system. Grown in a tree tube.
When we ship: Available for FALL 2025 shipping.
