Variety description: Reputed to be the darkest red of the Japanese flowering quinces. This upright growing selection is a stunner in early spring. Blooms late April in zone 6 Connecticut. Vigorous and easy to grow, this plant demonstrates good drought tolerance once established.

Cut branches in late winter and force them to bloom indoors. 

Height and Spread at Maturity: 6' tall and 6' spread.

Site requirements: Full sun. Prefers rich, well-drained soils. 

Hardiness: USDA zones 5-8.

Plant size: Grown in a 4" x 9" tree pot
