Notable characteristics: Bright red, semi-double, midseason, 20" tall, hybrid. A glowing red, tulip shaped flower on a rounded, tidy, dwarf plant.

Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Hybrid group, Saunders, 1950.

Growth habit and size at maturity: Dwarf. Upright, grows to 2' tall and 2.5' wide. Strong stems.

Flower form and size: Single, 4" and upward facing. Excellent variety for landscape planting or cut flowers. 

Flower fragrance: Very light. 

Bloom time: Mid season hybrid peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the last week of May and first week of June.

Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 3-9.


Plant size: 4-5 'eye' plants with a well developed root system.
