Paeonia, 'Golden Angel' hybrid herbaceous peony

Notable characteristics: Soft cream blossoms to 5". Foliage emerges bright copper, changing to vibrant yellow by bloom time. Foliage takes on more of green cast after bloom time, maturing to light green with a yellowish undertone. Upright grower, height to 30".

Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Hybrid group, Laning / Klehm, R.G., 2008.

Growth habit and size at maturity: Upright, grows to 30" tall and 36" wide. Very good stem strength. 

Flower form and size: Single, 4-5" and upward facing. Excellent variety for landscape planting.

Flower fragrance: Light.

Bloom time: Very early season hybrid peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second week of May.

Plant Size: Field dug, bare root plant, 4-5 'eyes'  with proportional roots. Ready to plant this spring. Good chance to see a bloom this year, though it will produce more in the second year.

Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 3-9.
