Notable characteristics: This variety is always a favorite with visitors to our garden, and we are very pleased to finally be able to offer this lovely cultivar. Blossoms slowly unfurl with a distinct, pale pink, cast. Petals change to white as the flower opens fully. Dark purple flares at the center are mostly hidden by the dense petal arrangement. Flowers are incredibly fragrant, one blossom will perfume an entire room! A very rare and choice tree peony. Deer resistant. Herbicide, pesticide, and fungicide free. Grown in Connecticut.

Hybridizer: Chen Junyu.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright and spreading, flowers held well above the foliage. Grows to 5.5' tall and 5' wide.

Flower form and size: Full double, 8-9".

Flower fragrance: Dense, spicy-sweet.

Bloom time: Mid-season rockii, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the first week of June.

Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9. P. rockii cultivars are particularly drought resistant once established.

About us: Cricket Hill Garden is a family owned and operated nursery founded in 1989 and based in Connecticut. We propagate and grow the vast majority of the plants we sell. Most garden centers and nurseries do the opposite of this, 'buying in' and reselling most plants they offer. Growing our own stock allows us to offer the rare and unusual plants we sell as well as provide the highest quality plants to the discerning gardener. We do not use synthetic herbicides, pesticides or fungicides in our nursery production.
