Paeonia, 'Hillary' intersectional 'Itoh' peony PICK UP

Notable characteristics: Large semi-double flowers of a very dark pink at the opening. As the flower ages  the upper part of the petals gradually turn cream, while the lower part keeps a rosy red coloration. Very floriferious. 

Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Intersectional peony, Roger Anderson, 1999.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Tall, upright grower, grows to 3.5' tall and 4' wide.

Flower form and size: Semi-double, rose form blossoms, 7-8" and upward facing. Flowers held well above and around the dark green foliage.

Flower fragrance: Light, sweet.

Bloom time: Early season 'Itoh' intersectional hybrid peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the first through third week of June. 

Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.

Plant size: 4-5 'eye' with a well developed root system. This size plant will most likely flower its first or second spring in the ground.
