Paeonia, 'Pink Hawaiian Coral' hybrid herbaceous peony PICK UP
Notable characteristics: Blossoms open with a hint of coral- red and open to a full coral-pink, contrasted with golden yellow stamens. Brighter color than the other coral hybrids. Excellent grower. Deer resistant. Herbicide, pesticide, and fungicide free. Grown in Connecticut.
Hybridizer, year introduced: Roy Klehm, 1981.
Growth habit and size at maturity: Grows to 34" tall and 34" wide.
Flower form and size: Full semi-double, 6-7", borne on strong stems. Excellent for cut flowers.
Flower fragrance: Light, sweet fragrance, more fragrant than other coral peonies.
Bloom time: Early-season herbaceous peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the first June. One of the first coral hybrids to bloom.
Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
