We do ship to Canada in a limited basis. Please contact us directly by mail or email at orders@treepeony.com for estimated shipping costs. Other countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America are very restrictive or have plant quarantines in place, making it extremely difficult at this time to ship our peonies.

About the Company
Cricket Hill Garden is a plant nursery established in 1989 by David and Kasha Furman, to introduce American gardeners to the beauty of Chinese peonies. Tree peonies are flowering, woody shrubs that produce magnificent flowers and have been popular since the 7th century in China. Over the years, Cricket Hill Garden has added herbaceous and intersectional peonies; Japanese and American tree peonies. We have grown and tested more than 300 different kinds.

Located in northwestern Connecticut, the 7 acre display garden/nursery blooms for about 6 weeks.
See us in bloom in May to mid-June. Our Peony Festival is a celebration of the flowers. Dates are May 2nd to June 14th. The garden is open Tuesday - Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. We will be open Memorial Day.

It is a pleasure to introduce fine varieties of peonies to all gardeners. Cricket Hill Garden searches out the best peonies and has tested more than 300 varieties. We are happy to share our growing experience with you. We maintain organic principles at all times in caring for the land and water. Use of cover crops, compost, and mineral supplements feed the soil and the plants. We encourage our customers to use organic fertilizers in their own gardens and supply some well tested products. What We Sell and Size of Plants
We ship in dormancy, without soil, in order to avoid application of pesticides. Plants are freshly dug to order; the roots are washed free of soil and carefully packed with moistened coir (coconut fiber).
Our standard size tree peonies are grown out to 4 years old, with at least 3 to 5 woody stems and very dense root systems. Some tree peonies are sold as a 2 year-old size, with 1-2 woody branches and are listed with this description. Herbaceous peonies and intersectional peony roots are 4/5 eyes, unless listed otherwise. Older tree peonies are available; ask for our updated Older Plant List by email or check our Collector's Corner for unique specimens.

If you live within driving distance, you can visit us and buy container plants. Peonies are available in 3 gallon up to five gallon size blooming size. We are open for visits in early April (weather permitting) on Friday and Saturdays, 10-4 pm or by appointment other days of the week. Not all plants are potted, many are field grown. Our Guarantee
Our peonies are guaranteed to arrive in good condition and will grow with success, if you follow our instructions. We cannot be responsible for weather or soil conditions out of our control. If you have a problem within the first year, we want to hear about it. We have a success rate of 99%, so we are confident you will be pleased.

Shipping Policies and Rates
We ship via UPS Ground, 3-day, 2-day, and Overnight services within the 48 contiguous United States.Plants and products to Alaska are best sent via Priority Mail.
We do ship to Canada and Europe though we prefer to do this in the fall shipping period. Please contact us with your requests.There is a fee of $35 for the Phyto-Sanitary Certificate that is needed for foreign shipments of plants.

Next Shipping Schedule:
We will take orders and reserve your plants for the best planting time in Spring, 2010. Depending on your USDA zone, your plants will be shipped at the right time for you to transplant during this time period.

USDA zones 4 ships beginning in April, while plants are dormant.
USDA Zones 5-7 ships beginning mid-March to early April.
USDA zones 8-9 Do not ship will in spring, so we will reserve orders in these warmer zones for fall shipping only, beginning in late October.

ORDER EARLY FOR BEST SELECTION.

We will notify you upon receiving your plant order and give you a shipping date.
If you have special instructions for the shipping date, send your request for a shipping time with your order. The office is open to answer your calls and questions, 9 am to 5 pm, EST Monday - Friday.

Reserve plants early to insure you get first choice on limited stock. Orders are scheduled as they are received. We expect many varieties to sell out, so order soon.

The following UPS ground shipping charges apply to orders placed by phone or from this web site:

$1 - 50.00 : $10.95
$51- 150.00: $14.95
$151 - 400.00: 10 % of order
$401 - 1000.00: 8% of order
$1001 - 2500.00: 7% of order

Tax
Orders shipped to Connecticut will have 6% state sales taxes added to your total order, and to your shipping charges where appropriate.

Payment
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express for payment on our web site. Mail orders can be paid with personal check, money order or bank check in U.S funds only. Personal checks need 7-10 days to clear before orders are sent.
Plant inventory is limited, and reserved for your order. Payment is required to reserve plants.
Orders cancelled more than 30 days prior to shipping incur a 10% restocking charge. For orders cancelled less than 30 days prior to shipping, the cancellation fee is 30% of the order.
