Seed Grown Tree Peony #2023-810

Notable characteristics: This peony is the result of a cross between the Chinese tree peony Paeonia rockii and a Japanese tree peony. The resulting cross is a very vigorous, unique , one-of-a-kind tree peony. Highly recommended, and easy to grow, this seed grown plant that flowered very well this past spring. This is a well established plant that would easily blend into an existing garden design and be a beautiful accent plant.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright, flowers held well above the foliage. Grows to about 3-4' tall and 4' wide.

Flower form and size: Semi-double, 7-9".  

Flower fragrance: Lightly sweet.

Bloom time: Early-season blooming, flowers in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second week of May.

Zone hardiness: Proven is USDA zones 4-9.

Plant size: 5-6 year old tree peony with compound woody stems, side branching and a well developed root system. This size plant has flower buds set for this coming spring.
