White Lotus Tree Peony, #9426
Notable characteristics: This peony is the result of a cross between the Chinese tree peony Paeonia rockii and a Japanese tree peony. The resulting cross is a very vigorous, unique, one-of-a-kind tree peony. Highly recommended, and easy to grow, this seed grown plant flowered well this spring. The soft white flowers have a delicate pink tone, with deep purple flares in the center.
Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright, flowers held well above the foliage. Estimated mature size to 42" tall and 36" wide.
Flower form and size: Semi-double, 7-8".
Flower fragrance: Lightly sweet.
Bloom time: Early-season blooming, flowers in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second week of May.
Zone hardiness: Proven is USDA zones 4-9.
Plant size: 5-6 compound woody stems, side branching and a well developed root system. Current size with foliage 34" tall and 30" wide.
