Vesuvian, American hybird tree peony
Full double, ruffled petals are black-red with purple undertone. The plant is very floriferous. Finely cut foliage is unique and contrasts with the foliage of other tree peonies.
Vesuvian is a symmetrical grower, and just 2.5' tall and wide at maturity. Best if planted near the front of the garden. Full double form 5'' blossoms with a sweet clove-like fragrance. From color, to fragrance, to foliage, a very pleasing tree peony.
