Name in Chinese and pin yin: 隴原二喬 Long Yuan Er Qiao

Notable characteristics: Soft iridescent pink blooms with very dark flares at the center. Flowers are well displayed above the foliage. Vigorous grower.

Long Yuan is a ancient name for Gansu province. The term refers to the craggy mountains and flat loess plains which make up the province's geography. 

Deer resistant. Herbicide, pesticide, and fungicide free. Grown in Connecticut.

Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Northwest (rockii) cultivar group, Chen Fuhui of the Peace Peony Garden in Gansu province, 2003.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright, grows to 4' tall and 4' wide.

Flower form and size: Lotus form, 8".

Flower fragrance: Spicy-sweet.

Bloom time: Late-season Chinese tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the last week of May.

Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.

Plant size: 1 year old tree peonies have 1 woody stem with a proportional root system. This size plant will most likely flower its second spring in the ground.

When we ship: 
This plant will ship in FALL 2018Order to reserve now! We operate like a CSA (community supported agriculture) where payment in received in advance of the harvest, and the produce is reserved for the customer. Our produce is our nursery stock, which can only be harvested in the fall, when the current season's growth is complete.
