Tree peony seedling, unknown color
Every year we plant hundreds of tree peony seeds from our beautiful display garden plants. These plants are now very sturdy and will most likely bloom in 1-2 more years. We need to make room for new plantings, so we cannot wait to see the flowers. This great bargain is for the adventurous gardener who is not fussy about color. They are a mix of Chinese and Japanese tree peonies. All are guaranteed to be beautiful.
Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): on average, 4' tall and 4' wide
Flower form and size: will vary, most are semi-double, lotus form, 7-9"
Flower fragrance: most are lightly sweet
Bloom Time: usually mid-season, second to the third week of May in our USDA zone 6a garden
Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
Plant size: 3 year old tree peonies have 1-2 woody stems with a well developed root system. This size plant may flower its first spring in the ground, or need another season to establish.
When we ship: Orders can ship FALL 2017. Order to reserve now! We operate like a CSA (community supported agriculture) where payment in received in advance of the harvest, and the produce is reserved for the customer. Our produce is our nursery stock, which can only be harvested in the fall, when the current season's growth is complete.

Most garden centers and nurseries do the opposite of this, 'buying in' and reselling most plants they offer. Growing our own stock allows us to offer the rare and unusual plants we sell as well as provide the highest quality plants to the discerning gardener. We do not use synthetic herbicides, pesticides or fungicides in our nursery production.
