Variety description: This heirloom quince has bright yellow flesh and light yellow flesh when ripe. Matures into a attractive small tree with a showy spring bloom and dark green summer foliage. A good keeper.
This variety is hails from western Anatolia, specifically the ancient and historically Greek city of Smyrna, know today as Izmir in Turkey. This variety of quince has been known in the United States since at least the 1880s.
Site requirements: Full sun location. Quince will grow in a range of soil types provided the planting location is well drained. Soil pH of 6.5 is ideal. Will grow to 12-15'.
