Name in Chinese and pin yin: 梨花粉 Li Hua Fen
Notable characteristics: Light pink chrysanthmeum semi-double form flowers are held upright, sort stiff branches. Vigorous grower and prolific bloomer. Only 1 plant available this year.
Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Central Plains group, Zhaolou Peony Garden, Heze, 1967.
Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Spreading, grows to 2.5' tall and 5' wide. A low growing cultivar ideal for smaller gardens.
Flower form and size: Single to semi-double, 7".
Flower fragrance: Spicy-sweet.
Bloom time: Early to mid-season Chinese tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second or third week of May.
Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
Plant size: This 8-9 year old tree peony currently measures 2.5' tall and 3' wide with foliage, with multiple woody trunks and numerous side branches.

We will dig this plant and pack the roots with moist coconut fiber for shipping. Our success rate for shipping older plants is excellent. Over the years, some of our older tree peony specimens have been sent across the country via UPS with great results, so if you live far from our nursery, do not let this deter you from acquiring some of our older plants.
