Variety description: Transplant a living piece of Connecticut history to your garden with a seedling of the state's largest pawpaw tree. This tree is on the grounds of Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford, CT. While it is doubtful that Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain, planted the tree himself, this majestic tree is likely almost 100 years old. It is clear that Clemens enjoyed the fruit as young boy, growing up in heart of pawpaw country, in Missouri along the Mississippi river. To learn more about this historic tree, see our article on Mark Twain and Connecticut's champion pawpaw tree.

In addition to seedling trees, we also offer grafted clones of this historic pawpaw tree.
