Notable characteristics: Medium sized semi-double flowers. Bright lavender blossoms always attract attention in the garden when in bloom. Medium size plants. Blossoms are well supported above the foliage.

Hybridizer and year introduced: Hybridizer unknown. Historic cultivar from Japan.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright habit, grows to 3' tall and 4' wide.

Flower form and size: Semi-double blossoms to 8".

Flower fragrance: Spicy-sweet, slight.

Bloom time: Late mid-season tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the last week of May.
