Name in Chinese and pin yin: 璎珞宝珠 Ying Luo Bao Zhu
Notable characteristics: Silver pink double flowers are a classic Chinese form and color. Blossoms are 7-8", often with silvery frosting. Dense, spicy-sweet fragrance. Vigorous grower and easy bloomer.
Cultivar group, area of origin: Central Plains cultivar group, this historical cultivar dates to the Qing Dynasty.
Growth habit and size at maturity : Spreading habit, grows to 3' tall and 3' wide.Good for smaller gardens.
Flower form and size: Double form, 7-8". Flowers will bloom as semi-double when plants are younger.
Flower fragrance: Sweet. This is one of the most fragrant tree peonies we grow.
Bloom time: Mid-season tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second or third week of May.
Zone hardiness: Proven is USDA zones 4-9.
