Edible Landscaping Walk, Saturday, October 12th 2019
Date: October 12th 2019
Lecture Fee: $25
Workshop Location: Cricket Hill Garden 670 Walnut Hill Rd. Thomaston, CT 06787
Join Dan Furman of Cricket Hill Garden for a morning exploring the fruit and berry plantings around the nursery. Over the last decade we have added hundreds of both native and exotic fruiting trees and shrubs to the landscape in both orchard settings as well in more established landscapes. Some tour highlights will be: pawpaw, persimmon, quince, medlar, asian pear, mulberry, and elderberry. Discussion topics will include: cultivar selection, site prep, planting and any other related topics of interest to the group.
We are hoping the timing of this tour will correspond with the ripening of our pawpaws! If so, we will have fruit available to sample!
