Blue Sapphire 藍寶石 Lan Bao Shi 2 yr. size
Outstanding color and form, one of our favorites! Subtle pink-lavender shades change to lavender-white as the flower matures. This plant will produce 7-8' flowers, opening with a soft purple "pearlescent" luminosity. The petals change to pure white, with a purple magenta flare at the center. Blooms in shapes from rose to double, with a delicate fragrance. The plant is wonderfully fast growing with many flowers. A low growing, spreading variety, grows to 3.5' tall and wide at maturity.
Vesuvian 1 yr. size
Full double, ruffled petals are black-red with purple undertone. The plant is very floriferous. Finely cut foliage is unique and contrasts with the foliage on Blue Sapphire.
Vesuvian is a symmetrical grower, and just 2.5' tall and wide at maturity. Best if planted near the front of the garden. Full double form 5'' blossoms with a sweet clove-like fragrance. From color to fragrance to foliage, a very pleasing tree peony.
