Ruffled White, tree peony #20-246

$ 129
Notable characteristics: This peony is the result of a cross between the Chinese tree peony Paeonia rockii and a Japanese tree peony. This is a one-of-a-kind, seed grown plant, that flowered very well this past spring. Ruffled white petals show distinct blackberry colored flares inside the flower, contrasting with a bright gold center. Small white petals inside the flower usually indicate the flower will make more petals and become a fuller, more double flower when a fully mature plant specimen.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright, flowers held well above the foliage. Grows to about 3-4' tall and 4' wide.

Flower form and size: Semi-double, 7-9", likely to make double form flowers.

Flower fragrance: Lightly sweet.

Bloom time: Early-season blooming, flowers in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second week of May.

Zone hardiness: Proven is USDA zones 4-9.

Plant size: 5-6 year old tree peony with multiple woody stems, side branching and a well developed root system. This size plant has flower buds set for next spring.

When we ship: Fall 2020
