Notable characteristics: Deep violet-red flowers are upward facing. Excellent, fast grower.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Semi-spreading, grows to 3.5' tall and 3.5' wide. Somewhat compact, fits easily into mixed borders.

Flower fragrance: Sweet. Bloom time: Mid-season Chinese tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second or third week of May. Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
