Notable characteristics: This tree peony is the result of a cross between the Chinese tree peony Paeonia rockii and a Japanese tree peony. This is one-of-a-kind, grown from seed and nurtured since 2012.  The peony flowered this past spring and is a very attractive specimen plant.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright flowers held well above the foliage. Grows to about 3.5' tall and 3.5' wide. Currently about 24" tall and wide with foliage.

Flower form and size: Semi-double, 7- 8" flower, white to pink satin petals with finely marked deep maroon flares. The flower appears to very simple white flower in bud, and then will open to reveal an alluring inner complexity with golden stamens.

Flower fragrance: Lightly sweet. 

Bloom time: Early-season blooming, flowers in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second week of May.

Zone hardiness: Proven is USDA zones 4-9. 

Plant size: Tree peony with 2 to 3 heavy woody stems, side branching and a well developed root system. This size plant has flower buds set and will most likely flower its first spring in the ground.
