Notable characteristics: 
Cherry blossom form bright pink flowers are borne in profusion on the easy to grow Japanese tree peony. This variety is one of the first of the Japanese tree peonies to bloom, with the Chinese tree peonies in the middle of May in Connecticut. Mt. Misaka is located in the famous tree peony growing region of Shimane in Japan.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright and spreading, grows to 2.5' tall and 3.5' wide.

Flower form and size: Semi-double, 8".

Flower fragrance: Spicy-sweet.

Bloom time: Very early season Japanese tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second week of May.

Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.

Plant size: 1 year old tree peonies have 1 woody stem, with offshoot buds, and a well developed root system. Size of plant with foliage the first year is 12-18" tall. Likely to bloom the second year in ground.
