Cricket Hill Garden
Imperial Peony Pair
Two hybrid peonies in vivid shades of ruby and gold bring a regal touch to your garden. Both of these stately hybrid tree peonies share the valuable characteristic of lustrous, deep green foliage and strong stems. They are also complimentary in height, with 'Buckeye Belle' about 30'' tall and 'Lemon Chiffon' a bit taller. The bloom time for both is early Mid-season, the first week of June in our Connecticut garden.
This pair consists of:
One of the best hybrid yellow herbaceous peonies. Blooms as both a semi-double and full bomb double. Foliage is a glossy deep rich green. Stems are stout and strong.
Dark, true red guard petals give way to interesting centers of narrow inner petals, interspersed with stamens, yellow anthers and red filaments. Overall, very attractive compact flowers which contrast well with the dark jade green foliage.
Bloom time: These hybrid peonies bloom in our USDA zone 6a garden in the last week of May and first week of June.
