Notable characteristics: This French heirloom peony dates from the 1850s, when double peonies were all the rage amongst the smart set of western Europe. Flowers are darkest pink to almost red in appearance. Full anemone double. A few lighter pink petaloids at the center of the flower. Fragrant. Makes an excellent cut flower, needs support in the landscape.
