Paeonia, 'Prairie Moon' hybrid herbaceous peony
Notable characteristics: Soft cream yellow semi-double blossoms will sometimes bloom as full doubles once the plant is well established. Strong stems and disease resistant foliage make this an outstanding selection for the landscape. It is also a great cultivar to use for cut flowers.
Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Inter-species hybrid, Fay, 1959.
Growth habit and size at maturity : Upright and spreading, grows to 2.5' tall and 2.5' wide. Excellent dark green foliage.
Flower form and size: Single form, to 5".
Flower fragrance: Light, sweet.
Bloom time: Early season hybrid herbaceous peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the last week of May.
Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
Plant size: Field dug bare root, 4-5 'eye' plants with a well developed root system.
