Actinovate, organic fungicide
Actinovate 2 oz. powder (makes up to 36 gal.)
Actinovate® for Lawn & Garden is a high concentration of a patented beneficial bacterium in a 100% water soluble powder. Listed for organic use under the guidelines of the OMRI listed products.
Actinovate® Biological Fungicide: Actinovate® Lawn and Garden suppresses and controls root rot, damping-off fungi and foliar fungal pathogens. Its active ingredient is a patented bacterium that grows around the root system (when soil-drenched) and foliage of the plant (when sprayed on) while using several novel modes of anti-fungal action to protect plants and lawns. In addition, when applied to the soil, Actinovate Lawn and Garden breaks down minerals and micronutrients, making them more available to plants, resulting in increased size and vitality. Plants and turf treated with Actinovate Lawn and Garden as a soil drench will become hardier, more vigorous, and will have a robust and protected root system.
KEY PERFORMANCE BENEFITS • Biological Fungicide • Multiple Modes of Action • Broad Spectrum Activity on Soil and Foliar Diseases • Easy-to-Use Formulation • OMRI Listed® for Organic Production
This powerful new product effectively suppresses & controls a wide range of root rots and damping off caused by pathogens like Pythium, Phytophthora, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Verticillium and other root decay fungi. At Cricket Hill Garden, we have found Actinovate superior to using copper sulfate, which builds up copper in the soil. We have used Actinovate for several years now and have found it a safe and effective product to use on the fungal problems in our gardens. We do use care in breathing or eye contact of the dry powder and wear gloves for application.
Start using Actinovate early in spring in areas that are known to be contaminated with fungus, or use as a preventative. May be applied as a soil drench or a spray, every 10 days to 2 weeks in cold, wet spring weather and again later in the growing season if weather is rainy and fungal damage with molds or spotting is evident on leaves or stems.
The smaller company that originated this product, Novozymes is part of the inevitable consolidation in the agricultural world involving Monsanto, followed by the Bayer Corp. successfully completing the acquisition of Monsanto.
The product is still listed as an OMRI safe. In redesigning the packaging they have used very confusing language which calls their product a pesticide. This is a biological fungicide.
The Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) is a private, nonprofit organization that determines whether or not a product qualifies as organic under the USDA's National Organic Program (NOP). Goods that are found to comply are listed on the OMRI Brand Name Products List (BNPL).
