Notable characteristics: Lemon-white blossoms with a trace of crimson on edges of a few petals. The whole flower is strongly suffused with yellow from hidden stamens and staminodes; develops to a large, globular form, pure white, richly fragrant. Compact plant with stout stems.
Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Lactiflora, Calot, 1869 Antique cultivar.
Growth habit and size at maturity: Upright, grows to 2.5' tall and 3' wide. Very good stem strength.
Flower form and size: Full double, 4-5" and upward facing. Excellent variety for landscape planting or cut flowers.
Flower fragrance: Rose-clove fragrant scent.
Bloom time: Late season hybrid peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the second week of June.
Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 3-9.
Plant size: Planted in a 5" pot with a well developed root system. This size plant will most likely flower its second spring in the ground.
Available for pick up this spring.
