International Sales Inquiries:
We do ship to Canada and Europe with success. We have been doing this for more than 10 years and the procedure is well defined. Plants are always shipped without soil, and the roots are moist and protected in coconut fiber. There is a $20 fee for the Phyto-sanitary certificate which allows the shipment to pass through border inspections. This certificate is needed for an order of 1 plant or 20, and the price is $20 USD.Please contact us directly by phone or email at orders@treepeony.com for estimated shipping costs and to discuss your plant interests.
Other countries such as Australia, New Zealand and South America are very restrictive and have plant quarantines in place, making it extremely difficult or impossible to ship our peonies.

About the Company
Cricket Hill Garden is a plant nursery established in 1989 by David and Kasha Furman, to introduce American gardeners to the beauty of Chinese peonies. Tree peonies are flowering, woody shrubs that produce magnificent flowers and have been popular since the 7th century in China. Over the years, Cricket Hill Garden has added herbaceous and intersectional peonies; Japanese and American tree peonies. We have grown and tested more than 400 different kinds.
Located in green hills of northwestern Connecticut, our 7-acre display garden/nursery is a terraced hillside clearing set inside acres of Connecticut hardwood forest filled with many species of birds and wildlife. It is a serene retreat from the hustle and noise of everyday commerce. We are not a typical "garden center" and don't try to be. Many visitors come back again and again just to sit and see the birds or watch the giant bullfrogs in the pond.
Our Peony Festival is a celebration of the peony flowers in bloom. They bloom for about 6 weeks, from May to mid-June.Last year we had more than 3000 visitors to our garden. It is a pleasure to introduce fine varieties of peonies to all gardeners. Cricket Hill Garden searches out the best peonies and has tested more than 400 varieties. We are happy to share our growing experience with you. We maintain organic principles at all times in caring for the land and water. Use of cover crops, compost, and mineral supplements feed the soil and the plants. We encourage our customers to use organic fertilizers in their own gardens and supply some well tested products. What We Sell and Size of Plants
We ship in dormancy, without soil, in order to avoid application of pesticides. Plants are freshly dug to order; the roots are washed free of soil and carefully packed with moistened coir (coconut fiber). Our standard size tree peonies are grown out to 3-4 years old, with at least 3 to 4 woody stems and balanced root systems. Some tree peonies are sold as younger plants in a 2-3 year size with 2-3 woody branches. We sometimes offer a smaller 2 year-old size, with 1-2 woody branches and these are listed with this description. Herbaceous peonies and intersectional peony roots are 4-5 eyes, unless listed otherwise. Older tree peonies are available; ask for our updated Older Plant List by email or check our Collector's Corner for unique specimens.
If you live within driving distance, you can visit us and buy container plants in spring. Peonies are available in 1.5, 2 and 3 gallon sizes up to 7 gallon size. We are open for nursery visits in May to mid-June, Tuesday-Sunday, 10 am-5 pm. Our peonies are guaranteed to arrive in good condition and will grow with success, if you follow our instructions. We cannot be responsible for weather or soil conditions out of our control. If you have a problem within the first year, we want to hear about it. We have a success rate of 99%, so we are confident you will be pleased.

Shipping Policies and Rates
We ship via UPS Ground, 3-day, 2-day, and Overnight services within the 48 contiguous United States. Plants and products to Alaska and Hawaii are best sent via Priority Mail.
Plant Shipping Schedule 2013:
We will take orders now and reserve your plants. Stock is always limited and many items sell out. We calculate your USDA zone, and your plants will be shipped at the right time for you to transplant in dormancy, with buds formed. USDA zones 4-9 will ship in FALL.
ORDER EARLY TO RESERVE PLANTS FOR FALL.
Orders are charged and reserved as they are received.
You may also order plants for pick up at the nursery. We have a good selection in 2, 3 to 5 gallon containers.
We will notify you upon receiving your plant order and give you a shipping date, designated by the week it will ship. If you have special instructions for the shipping date, send your request for a shipping time with your order. When it leaves our nursery, you will get a UPS tracking number for the order.
The office is open to answer your calls and questions, 9 am to 5 pm, EST Monday - Friday.

$1 - 60.00 : $12.95
$60.01- 150.00: $14.95
$150.01 - 400.00: 10 % of order
$400.01 - 1000.00: 8% of order
$1001 - 2500.00: 7% of order
Tax:
Orders shipped to Connecticut will have 6.35% state sales taxes added to your total order, and to your shipping charges where appropriate.

Payment
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express for payment on our web site. Mail orders can be paid with personal check, money order or bank check in U.S funds only. Personal checks need 7-10 days to clear before orders are sent.
Plant inventory is limited, and reserved for your order. Payment is required to reserve plants. We actually tag plants on a 'first come' basis. Ordering early insures that you will get our best stock.
Orders cancelled more than 30 days prior to shipping may incur a 10% restocking charge. For orders cancelled less than 30 days prior to shipping, the cancellation fee may be 15% of the order, depending on circumstances.
