Yang Gui Fei Wearing a Crown of Kingfisher Feathers Gui Fei Cha Cui
Yang Gui Fei is considered one of the four great beauties of ancient China. Praised in literature and here, named for a peony representative of female allure. A crown of kingfisher feathers was a favorite ornament of women of the Chinese elite in imperial times.
At maturity, multi-toned pinkish-red flowers bloom in the full double form, sometimes with green petioles. When plants are young, the blossoms are in the semi-double form. This plant has sweet fragrance, vigorous growth and numerous up-facing flowers. Proven for USDA zones 4-9.
Plants are semi-spreading, growing to 4 ft. tall and wide by the tenth year.
These 4+ year old plants will have at least 4 thick woody stems and a well developed root system, just the right size to thrive in your garden. Plants have great flower buds formed for spring.
This peony can be shipped in fall dormancy to USDA zones 4-9. Order and reserve early. If you would like to visit, we do have this one potted for purchase at the nursery this spring.
