We judge this to be one of the best black (dark maroon) culitvars available. It is appreciated in China as one of the darkest maroon-red tree peonies they grow. Upward facing, blooming when young in the lotus form, later as plant matures it will have double, 8 inch flowers and a dense fragrance. Petals are very dark and lustrous.
