Stock#: tp-rdjc Price: $125.00 Red of Dianjiang County Dian Jiang Hong Chinese tree peony, 4+ year old plant, 4-5 branches. This tree peony belongs to the Southwest cultivar group and is a new addition to our collection. This classical variety is traditionally grown around the city of Chongqing in Sichuan province. We have begun to test this variety because it is traditionally grown in pots. With a matted and spreading root system it seems to be much more suitable for container growing than either Central Plains or Rockii cultivars with their very deep tap roots. Semi-double and anemone blossoms open a dark shade of reddish pink and gradually fade to a multi-shaded silver pink. Good, sweet fragrance. Early season bloomer. Expect this tree peony to reach 4' x 4' at maturity. Similar in many regards to 'Great Peace Red.' Orders for USDA zones 4-9 will ship in fall. Reserve early..
