rockii, Chinese tree peony, Compassionate, light pink, white
Stock#: comp-6
Chinese tree peony, 6/7 yrs. old, 5/6 woody stems. Flowers open with a distinctive pink tone to the petals
and have dark purple-black flares at the
petal base. Similar to the tree peony named Snow Lotus , except Compassionate has more pink in the petals coloring . A rare specimen, only a few available of this size. Can be grown in USDA zones 4-9 , reserve soon for fall planting.
Flowers are 8-10 in diameter, in the
lotus form and are held well above the foliage. As the flower opens, the pink is quite evident, and as it fades, the petals will become almost white, though it always retains the dark maroon-black accent flare.
Flowers have a dense, sweet fragrance. which is noticed by all our garden visitors. All rockii hybrids are vigorous and tall growing,
and extremely floriferous. Large plants, average height now is over 36 tall and wide. Expect this tree peony
to grow to 5 ft. wide and 6 ft. tall by the
10th year( 4 yrs. or so after
planting). A beautiful specimen plant, very showy.
