Champion Red Jade Belt
Rockii Chinese tree peony, 5 yrs. old, 4-5 major woody stems, with much offshoot branching. All rockii hybrids are vigorous and tall growing, and extremely floriferous. These are large plants, average height now is over 30 inches tall and wide. Flowers are mid-to-
light reddish, with lavender and dark purple flares at the
petal base. RARE AND LIMITED STOCK. This peony can be shipped to USDA zones 4-7 in spring. Warmer zones of 8 & 9 are best planted from late fall to mid-February.
Flowers are 8-10" in diameter, in the
anemone form and are held upright, above the foliage. If fragrance is important to you, note that these flowers have a very dense, sweet fragrance. All rockii hybrids grow vigorously and tall, and are extremely floriferous. These plants are native to Gansu Province, in northwestern China and are extremely tolerant to a wide temperature range. Summers in Gansu can reach 100 degrees easily, and winters are below zero. In Connecticut, we have found rockii hybrids to be some of our favorite tree peonies.
This double form flower is rare for rockii tree peonies, most of them are simpler lotus form. Expect this tree peony
to grow to 4 ft. wide and 5+ ft. tall by about the
10th year. Beautiful specimen plant, very unusual. Only a few available, reserve soon. .
