Shades of Pink and White Tree Peony Collection (2-3 yr. size)

Stock#: TPC-P+W2/3 Price: $217.00 We chose this collection of three Chinese tree peonies because all the colors complement each other so well. All three varieties have fragrant flowers and are strong growers. Allow a spacing of at least 4-5 ft. apart. Phoenix White (Feng Dan Bai) Flowers face upwards, floating like silk on top of the leaves, growing 8-9’’ with a dense sweet fragrance. Plants grow rapidly and are very erect, reaching 5’ tall and 4’ wide at ten years old. This is a cultivated variety of the wild species Paeonia ostii. It is a very versatile garden plant that is more adaptable to harsh growing conditions. In our garden we have noticed that plants grown in shadier areas with less sun will still grow and flower well. In the fall, if conditions are right, the leaves of ‘Phoenix White’ turn hues of red and orange. Black Dragon Holds a Splendid Flower (Wu Long Peng Sheng) A semi-double to anemone 8’’ fragrant flowers face upwards. On mature blossoms light cream carpels often appear in striking contrast to the very dark magenta-red petals. Grows quickly, reaching 5’ tall and wide. Very floriferous, a classical variety ideal for beginning a peony collection. Multi-Colored Butterfly (Hua Hu Die) This garden favorite has numerous petals in many shades of pink and red-maroon which contrast with the center golden stamens. Flowers are 8” and face upwards, with a delicate spiced fragrance. Plant has an erect habit, and will reach 4’ tall and wide at maturity. 2-3 year old plants have at least 2 stems and large, well developed root system.
