Planted together, this pair represents both the intense dark red maroon so prized by Chinese peony growers as well as the soft toned "pearlescent" quality which we find unique to peonies and impossible to capture outside of the moment of viewing. These two are both early blooming, so this collection will make a striking display in your garden. This larger 4 yr. old plant size will have set flower buds to bloom next spring. Blue Sapphire Lan Bao Shi Outstanding color and form, one of our favorites! Subtle pink-lavender shades change to lavender-white as the flower matures. This plant will produce 7-8' flowers, opening with a soft purple "pearlescent" luminosity. The petals change to pure white, with a purple magenta flare at the center. Blooms in shapes from rose to double, with a delicate fragrance. The plant is wonderfully fast growing with many flowers. A low growing, spreading variety, grows to 3.5' tall and wide at maturity. Gold Sand in a Black Ocean Hei Hai Sha Jin Golden pollen grains dust the surface of these fragrant, 8', lotus form flowers. The darkness of the flowers contrast beautifully with the deep green, finely cut foliage. This plant has a spreading habit and will reach 3.5' to wide and 3.5' to 4' tall at maturity. Highly recommended if you are searching for a rich, dark-red maroon tree peony.
