peach color peony, intersectional peony, Julia Rose
Stock#: ih-jr
This is a beautiful flower, one of our visitors favorites! This peony is known as an intersectional, which is a cross between a tree and a herbaceous peony. It will grow in full sun, or 5-6 hours of sun, in well-drained soil. The flowers are large, peach-rose color, 7-8 inches in diameter, with a sweet fragrance. It is a fast growing plant, growing to about 32 inches tall and spreading.
It is still rare and not widely sold. It was hybridized by Roger Anderson in the U.S. and we think it is a prize to add to a peony collection. We have very good size roots available for transplanting in fall dormancy. Roots have 5-6 eyes, and are very substantial, likely to bloom the first year.
This plant can be shipped in fall to USDA zones 4-9. Some potted plants are available for pick up at the nursery.
