Julia Rose, intersectional peony, 3 eye size
Stock#: ih-jr2
Price: $89.00
This is a beautiful flower, one of our visitors' favorites! This peony is known as an intersectional, which is a cross between a tree and a herbaceous peony. It will grow in full sun, or 5-6 hours of sun, in well-drained soil. The flowers are large, opening a deep rose, changing to peach and ending a pale yellow color. Size is 7-8 inches in diameter, with a light, sweet fragrance. It is a fast growing plant, height to about 34 inches tall and spreading.
It is still rare and not widely sold. It was hybridized by Roger Anderson in the U.S. and we think it is a prize to add to a peony collection. Roots have at least 3 eyes, and are substantial, but will likely need 1 to 2 more years to see flowers. Do not confuse our plants with those grown in 4 inch pots. Ours are growing in a 3-gallon size.
