Court Jester- 5/6 eye size
Stock#: ih-cj
This is a light copper-yellow color, with dark red flares in the center of the flower. It blooms profusely and attracts much attention in the garden. This peony is an intersectional, which is a cross between a tree and a herbaceous peony.
It will grow in full sun, or 5-6 hours of sun, in well-drained soil. The flowers are medium-sized, 6-7 inches in diameter, with a light fragrance. It is a fast growing plant, growing to about 32 inches tall and spreading. In the fall, it is cut down, to return as a larger plant every season. It is still rare and still not widely seen. It was hybridized by Roger Anderson in the U.S. and we think it is a worth having in any peony collection. We have very good size roots available for transplanting in fall dormancy. Roots have 5-6 eyes, and are very substantial, likely to bloom the first year. Order soon, limited availability.
This plant can be shipped in dormancy this fall to USDA zones 4-9. Some potted plants in the 5 gal size are available for pick up at the nursery.
