Petals are full and ruffled, and look like they are made of heavy satin. This plant attracts much attention in the garden. This peony is an intersectional, which is a cross between a tree and a herbaceous peony. It will grow in full sun, or 5-6 hours of sun, in well-drained soil.The flowers are large, 8 inches in diameter, with a light, sweet fragrance. It is a fast growing plant, growing to about 32 inches tall and spreading. In the fall, after the frost, it is cut down and returns each spring as a larger plant. It is still rare and still not widely seen. It was hybridized by Roger Anderson in the U.S. Roots have 3-5 eyes, and are substantial, with balanced roots, likely to bloom the 2nd year after planting.
