It is fascinating to see it change over time, in a matter of days. This is another unusual intersectional peony, which is a cross between a tree and a herbaceous peony. Order and reserve now for spring shipping. It is still rare and not widely seen. It was hybridized by Roger Anderson in the U.S. and we think it is a very worthy plant to have in any peony collection. It will grow in full sun, or 5-6 hours of sun, in well-drained soil.The flowers are large, 7-8 inches in diameter, with a light fragrance. It is a fast growing plant, height to about 34 inches tall and spreading. In the fall, it is cut down, to return as a larger plant every season. Roots have at least 3 eyes, and are substantial, but will likely need 1 more year to bloom. Our plants are growing in a 3-gallon size ( 10" deep and wide) so do not compare to cheap plants grown in 4 inch pots. >Will grow in USDA Zones 4-9.
