Bartzella, yellow intersectional peony
Stock#: ih-bz-3
MSRP: $125.00 Your Price: $99.00
Considered by many to be the best yellow intersectional peony.Award winner in the U.S and Europe, this plant is a cross between a tree and a herbaceous peony. It will grow in full sun, or 5-6 hours of sun, in well-drained soil. The flowers are large, yellow, 7-8 inches in diameter, with a sweet fragrance.
It is still considered quite rare and not widely sold. It was hybridized by Roger Anderson in the U.S. in the 80's and we think it is a prize to add to a peony collection. Roots have at least 3-4 eyes, and are well-balanced with the root system. Each "eye" grows into a stem, so you will see a young plant the first spring, which grows quickly to produce flowers in 1-2 more years.
Do not confuse our plants for those sold in 4 inch pots. Our plants are grown in 3 GALLON pots. Quite a difference!
It is a strong growing plant, reaching to 36-42 inches tall at maturity, which will take a more time. This size plant will need another year to flower. In our area, pick up potted plants available at the nursery this season.
