Stock#: H-lc Price: $99.00 Lois' Choice- Herbaceous peony, an American beauty, very hard to find. An amazing peach-yellow flower by the great peony hybridizer, Chris Laning. Double flower with good stem strength, 7 inches in diameter. This peony does not require staking and is a compact grower, to about 28" tall. Clumps grow larger each year, spreading to 36". What makes this flower so unique is its color changes. It will begin with a green, cabbage-like bud, open to this apricot color shown, and then change to light yellow before it fades. When this one is in bloom, everyone at the garden is in love with it! A very unique addition to your peony collection. VERY LIMITED STOCK FOR 2012. This peony can be shipped in fall dormancy to USDA zones 4-9. Order and reserve early. If you would like to visit, we do have this one potted for purchase at the nursery this spring.. As a general rule, herbaceous peonies don't bloom well in zone 9, though we do know of people who grow them in areas of northern California.
