Double flower with good stem strength, 7 inches in diameter. This peony does not require staking and is a compact grower, to about 28" tall. Clumps grow larger each year, spreading to 36". What makes this flower so unique is its color changes. It will begin with a green, cabbage-like bud, open to this apricot color shown, and then change to light yellow before it fades. When this one is in bloom, everyone at the garden is in love with it! A very unique addition to your peony collection. 4-5 eye size. Stock is very limited in 2011, order soon. Will grow well in zones 4-8. As a general rule, herbaceous peonies don't bloom well in zone 9, though we do know of people who grow them in areas of northern California.
