This sweet and subtle beauty is a delightful peony from China, that will be sure to please collectors and novices alike. Double flower form, 6 to 7 inches in size, with good stem strength. Like all very large, double peonies, it may need some staking or a garden umbrella if the rain falls on fully open blooms. We use our garden umbrellas for rain protection and get a much longer flower life. When cutting peonies, bring them inside before they are fully open to enjoy longer indoors. HINT: when cutting any herbaceous peonies for indoor use, submerge flower heads in a pail of cold water, rinsing and shaking several times to remove any ants. This methods works very well, we have used it for wedding flowers. Large double form flowers with satin textured petals, open in our Connecticut garden in late May to early June.
